News Blog Unbound the Greyhound film projected onto London’s Piccadilly Lights 21-11-24 Last week, our Unbound the Greyhound coalition film to end greyhound racing in Scotland was projected onto London’s Piccadilly Lights - Europe's biggest screen! As the winner of the highly coveted animal welfare category at the world’s largest sustainability festival, the 2024 Big Syn International Film Festival, a snippet of our film was projected in one of London’s busiest spots on the 14th of November, to the support and cheers of scores of onlookers. A reach of 50 million in 120 countries OneKind’s Head of Campaigns and Media, Eve, and Social Media and Communications Officer, Rachel, were delighted to be invited to the Big Syn International Film Festival in London, where they scooped up the award. The Festival is the world’s biggest sustainability film festival, reaching over 50 million in 120 countries, and more than 500 films and 300 charity films were submitted. The Grandy Jury comprised of OSCAR, BAFTA and EMMY award-winners and leaders from sustainability, business, media and policy. A powerful display Speaking on behalf of the coalition, OneKind’s Head of Campaigns & Media, Eve Massie Bishop said: "Seeing our film that calls for a ban on greyhound racing in Scotland light up Piccadilly Lights was a monumental moment for us. This powerful display has brought our message to one of the busiest spots in London, highlighting the often-unseen suffering behind greyhound racing and driving support for an end to this archaic pastime. “Within less than a year of launching the coalition, MSP Mark Ruskell lodged a Bill to phase out greyhound racing in Scotland, that has received strong backing from both the public and MSPs.
