Scottish animal welfare charity OneKind is thrilled to welcome Jason Rose as the charity’s latest CEO.

Jason joins the charity following three decades of senior level roles in communications, campaigns and public affairs.

His current position is as the senior public affairs manager for Museums Galleries Scotland, an independent charity which serves as the national development body for Scotland's 450 museums and galleries. He previously led campaigns and political engagement teams at nature conservation charity RSPB Scotland and was Head of Media for the Scottish Greens.

Jason also has a lifelong passion for animals, having started his career as a radio journalist covering wildlife and farming issues. In recent years he has chaired a community campaign to protect the internationally important Musselburgh Lagoons wildlife habitat from development.

He also has experience on the boards of charities, having served as a trustee of East Lothian Play Association and as a director of Stop Climate Chaos Scotland.

Jason says:

"I've long admired the work of OneKind, and it's an honour to take over from Bob Elliot. OneKind is an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of animals in Scotland, and I'm looking forward to leading and supporting the team, working with the trustees, and helping build on previous successes.  

"Scotland is a nation of animal lovers but there is still much to be done to put an end to the use of animals in laboratories, improve the welfare of farmed animals, and for the animals in our countryside, along our coasts and in our homes. OneKind has a great track record of persuading politicians to make changes to policy and legislation, and it has a great reputation for working collaboratively for extra impact.
