In June 2021 the UK Government introduced the Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill to parliament, which introduced a ban on the live export of farmed animals for fattening or slaughter, from or through Great Britain.

 

The Bill still needed to work its way through Parliament before becoming law.

Advocates for Animals (OneKind) demo against live exports.

This was a landmark moment for animal welfare and animal advocates, such as OneKind, who campaigned against the live export trade for decades.
