CCTV in slaughterhouses (2021)

In July 2021 mandatory CCTV came into force for all Scottish slaughterhouses.

We campaigned for mandatory CCTV to protect animals from illegal violence, which previous investigations into slaughterhouses had revealed. CCTV cameras will likely have a deterrent effect and any footage obtained of abuse can be used to prosecute those involved.
